FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WEDDINGS + FARM

do you have a minimum INVESTMENT?

While we believe that sustainably grown, local flowers should be accessible to all, we do need to cover the costs of our own services. Over the years, we’ve found that it’s just not feasible to do full service weddings at our quality standard for anything less than $6k.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK A WEDDING?

6-12+ months before your date is preferred. We can accommodate a shorter time frame, however we cannot guarantee a date will be available - dates during the peak season (May-October) fill quickly, especially June and September. We recommend reaching out as soon as you’ve selected your date and venue.

For Elopements, we require at least a 4 week notice. During our peak season we will take a limited number of new inquiries as we give our current clients 100% of our attention.

DO YOU OFFER CANDLES OR OTHER RENTALS?

The only rentals we offer are the vases we use in our floral designs.

CAN WE ARRANGE/PROVIDE SOME OF OUR OWN FLOWERS TOO?

No, we’ve allowed this in the past and truthfully it gets a bit tricky for a variety of reasons.

  1. We work very hard to ensure a cohesive floral design - from the big picture down to the small details. The other flower arrangements created by friends/family may not match the design aesthetic and may stand out.

  2. We want to be cognizant to make sure the photographer and other vendors do not tag us for work we did not do - it isn't fair to who made it and it could also affect our brand.

  3. It takes extra time/labor to coordinate bulk pickup/delivery and takes us away from working on your wedding florals.

Leave the array of flowers to your florist - let your friends/family relax and enjoy this special time with you during these meaningful moments!

DO YOU GROW ALL OF THE FLOWERS/FOLIAGE YOU USE?

As much as we darn can. We grow it, forage for it, or source from other local farms when we cannot - it all depends on the season. We ship in product if necessary to achieve a certain design aesthetic.

WHAT IS STRIKE?

Strike or breakdown is when the Roots Wild Floral team comes back at the end of the event and removes all Roots Wild Floral items from the venue, including flowers and RWF rentals. The fee is based on the location of your event, size, and timing.

WHAT HAPPENS TO FLOWERS AFTER AN EVENT?

After we break down an event, we send our clients with all the blooms they want to keep, then we save our drieds or fresh flowers we can dry for later, we save our mechanics and vessels, and we sort through the rest to compost.

Some folks will ask if flowers can be reused/donated - and yes sometimes they can - however truthfully it’s more work than we have the bandwidth for. Blooms are tired, stem lengths are all over the map, we’re unable to donate our rentals/vases, flowers can break as we dismantle installations, and at the end of a 16+hr day the best home for used blooms is in our compost on our farm where they will decompose back into the earth to become the life force for our farm grown flowers.
